Jeff and Kelly Carns, CJE *

Serving Northern, Central and Blue Ridge Virginia since 2001

Jeff’s Penn State business education and work experience prepared him to assist yearbook staffs with all aspects of creation and sales. Kelly has been with Jostens since 1984 as a yearbook editor, English teacher, adviser, sales rep, competitive intelligence analyst and training manager. The couple sponsor the annual Virginia Yearbook Workshop and live in Culpeper with their twins; their oldest is a United States Marine. The family loves to camp in Virginia and visit yearbook staffs along way; hence, they have met many school resource officers who are curious about the RV in the parking lot!

Jeff’s patience and reassurance are remarkable

Taking over Photojournalism was overwhelming since I had only taught English. Mr. Carns met with me before the end of the year to ensure I had materials to prepare over the summer. His patience and reassurance was remarkable; he went above and beyond to make sure I was prepared. My assistant principal told me that Mr. Carns’ reputation of professionalism and dedication preceded him, but he proved this to be accurate before the school year even began!

Jeff has been great!

Three years ago I began working with Jeff Carns when I became not only a new yearbook adviser for my high school but a new yearbook adviser in general.  As my Jostens’ yearbook representative, Jeff immediately provided the necessary support and guidance that was needed not only in order for our yearbook and the yearbook program to succeed but for me to succeed as an adviser as well. Jeff took the time to share his expert knowledge to guide my staff and me with patience not only in the beginning but throughout our first year together. Now three years later, I can say this continues to be the case each year.  His dedication and professionalism with his role at Jostens are outstanding. I know that at any time if assistance is needed in any way, I can count on Jeff to be there to provide the necessary support. Thanks to Jeff and the people at Jostens my school’s yearbook program continues to improve and grow resulting in a successful yearbook product for my school community to enjoy.
